Q: What is event styling?
A. Event styling is the design, creation and set-up of elements of decor including tablescapes; centerpieces; favor stuffing; general decorations such as banners, printables, balloon bouquets and tissue poms; props; and dessert and food tables for an event. Basically, we make it pretty!
Q: Why do I need a stylist?
A. Well, just like your hair stylist or home decorator, an event stylist has the skills, time, resources and patience necessary to set the stage for your event. An event stylist has experience in turning an ordinary space into your dream event space all while giving you fewer details to stress about before and during your event. An experienced stylist can create a memorable sensory experience for both you and your guests through use of design principles and techniques. We are expert designers!
Q. Isn't that what a event planner does?
A. No, stylists only deal with the decoration and sensory portion of your event while a planner may secure vendors, work with the wedding party, create timelines, give recommendations, handle rentals and direct various vendors for your events. We do not plan, but decorate according to your wishes!
Example: A planner may determine what time she/she may like for the design team (my team) to begin set-up or break down, consult with the designer/stylist about design elements and theme/concept ideas. If there is no planner the designer/stylist (myself) would consult directly with you. Whereas a designer would consult with the planner or client about design elements, materials to be used, decor placement and specific decor to be used. The stylist would execute the set-up and sometimes break-down of these items and provide and additional design support.
